consanguinity marriage, intergenerational differences and its supportive factors

چکیده

marriage is a social phenomenon which is influenced by the structures of society. marriage in the context of family and at the same time have been transformed. traditionally, the marriage between close relatives has been very common in iran country. the purpose of this study is to examine differences in intergenerational relationships of marriage and its supportive factors. methods of research in this study is survey. statistical population consists of individuals on the verge of marriage who attended in selected health centers in kermanshah city. the statistical sample includes 400 individuals of the statistical population. data were collected through a self-made questionnaire in april 2013. the findings showed that consanguinity marriage between the two generations is increased. respondents' level of education, mother's education level and record of consanguinity marriage among parent variables have a significant effect on consanguinity marriage among the next generation. record of parental consanguinity marriage was the most important predictor of consanguinity marriage among children. the results also showed that 17 percent of the variance in the dependent variable is explained by the independent variables. loss of social trust and the support of relatives in critical condition could be the reasons for the increase of consanguinity marriage.
